Healthy Mama’s Guide to Prenatal chiropractic

The most common issue for pregnant mamas is lower back pain. This can be broken down into several categories including hip pain, sciatica, round ligament, and pubic discomfort. Sciatica is typically characterized by shooting pain down the back of the leg, it is typically only on one side. At times, you may feel pain or tightness where your back pocket hits your buttocks as well. Round ligament pain is usually a  sharp pain from the belly that at times can be felt in the groin as well. It can worsen with quick movements, or with just standing up or sitting down.

From the moment you get pregnant your body will be constantly changing each and every day. This means that your body is going to feel new and different. Relaxin is a hormone that is naturally released by the body during pregnancy that will relax the muscles and ligaments in the body in preparation for the birth process. As this happens, you may feel more aches and pains. There are some simple stretches you can do, like pigeon pose for example. It’s a simple stretch you can do on the floor or on your bed.
